Its been just over a year since I started Enbrel, and I had my 3rd
assessment today.  (I had one at 3 months, one at 6 and another at 12).

My ESR when I started on the Enbrel was 41, next visit it was 30, next 15
and today it is down to 6.  I feel better than I have in a few years so
hooray to Enbrel (and a little mtx).

About the new syringe packs - I can't remember who mentioned it but the
rheumatology nurse asked me what I thought of them.  Apparently they have
had loads of complaints about the needle in the pack being less than sharp,
so they are going to meet with the drug rep about it.

Oh, and they have had a letter already on my file about me being on the list
for the TKR (that was quick - only 6 days!)..

Hi Jayne ,
I noticed that about the new needles and mentioned it to my
consultant and she said no one else had mentioned it and made me feel
like a right girl so I'm glad its not just me!
I'm still having a little trouble with my hands  but my ESR is down
to 9 so I'm pleased about that .
Bummer about England being knocked out in the penalties, no change
there, then !

Hi Jayne ,
I'll menton it to my rheumy nurse next time , I think she's more
likely to get feedback about it than the RD.

They do tend to be a bit easier to chat to don't they?  Plus, they are a bit
more knowledgeable about syringes and needles and stuff.

Yep.

I also complained about the needles when they rang me up about my next
delivery. I feel that the new system is not as straightforward as the
old one, more fiddly I think. But that is a personal view. They really
should do something about the needles.

In the US a year or two ago they were always complaining about the
enbrel neeles. Don't suppose they are the surplus being used up here
tho ???? Screw fitting rules that out I guess.

I thought the original system with two push on needles was fine, but then my
hands aren't bad.  I could see how someone with really bad hands may have
struggled.
