Feeling lousy today

Peter James - 21 Apr 2008 14:50 GMT I played golf on Friday, and like an idiot agreed to play in a match on the following Saturday, the next day. I played, and came off the course feeling pretty dreadful, but a good nights rest did wonders for me, and Sunday was a breeze. Today I feel awful. Lousy headache and pain in the neck from Arthur.
And now to my point. Today it's raining here. Does anyone else feel that they suffer on wet and miserable days, or is it just me. I swear that on wet days my arthritis is so much worse. Anyone else agree?

Anyone else agree? Absolutely. I don't know what type of arthur you have, but I have osteo in knees, hands and wrists. They not only play me up much more when the weather is wet, they let me know in advance when we are doing to have damp, or wet, weather.
It's part of the rich pageant of arthur which we have to live with.
Cheers for now,
Dave

I don't think my arthritis is any different as regards the weather though - I honestly haven't noticed that cold wet days make it worse. They make ME feel worse though - I'm proper grumpy when its raining, but thats more to do with my frizzy hair!

sweetpickleNO@SPAMknology.net - 22 Apr 2008 17:27 GMT Jayne, be thankful you have enough hair to be frizzy. Mine is so thin you can easily see the scalp shining through, particularly in one or two big spots! And my hair and scalp are definitely not the same color. Gwen

And my hair and scalp are definitely not the same color. i'm almost defined by my hair[*] -- lots on head, chest, large beard.
yet i now have to wear a hat if i'm going to be out in the sun.
yes, i _know_ it's *male* pattern baldness, i just don't like it...
any road, jayne, i've never convinced myself that i'm worse in bad weather, but i sometimes claim i am, when grumpy. get well soon.
[*] when they put me on cyclosporin as a dmard, the specialist nurse said "we have to tell you, it will make you get hairier". "how will they tell?", i quipped. but it did: if you see me without clothes (not a recommended sight) you see my torso covered with really rather nice, fine hair (not a bit like any of the rubbish on my head ;-).

Anyone else agree? At one time, yes, but not any more. Nowadays the one thing that regulates how my joints feel is sleep - not enough and I can feel a bit tender.
That's RA, I should say.
Here's a thing: have many of you tried Melatonin for insomnia? It's changed my life: I've been an insomniac since my teens and kind of organised my life to cope with that - but I've been chucking a tablet every night for mmmmm six months maybe, and thay've only let me down two or three times, when I've had a lot on my mind, such as having to give someone a disciplinary the following day etc.
So if any among us are bad sleepers, I'd recommend you google Melatonin - the brand I'm taking is Schiff Melatonin Plus. It's done me no harm. Quack! Quack! Bzzzzzzzzzzzz. Yoghurt!
cheers

Where do you get your melatonin? I didn't think you could buy it in the UK.

Al Murray (The Pub Landlord) Essential Saturday evening entertainment (and Queen Fan),always says certain catchphrase throughout his show.
Usually things like,
"The beautiful British Pint"
"Where would we be if we didn't have rules?" Audience answers "France"
"Where would we be if we had too many rules?" Audience answers "Germany"
and then he usually throws a random 3rd one in, like for example
"Where would we be if we didn't have the internet?"
then he answers it himself "Yes China!"
That sort of thing.
Now I know technically China has the internet, but they censor you tube etc........... anyway, may be just my sense of humour, I go back here and sit on my hands.
