didn't frighten me, so there.
just back from *ever such* a nice stay in hospital 'cos i had a
pulmonary embolism. they said i got rather close to the edge, but all
i knew was i couldn't breathe properly. quite makes you forget the
old arthritis. (what's more, i missed a rheum clinic appointment, and
had forgotten to tell them. when you're short of oxygen in the brain
there's not a lot you _do_ remember, actually. they're going to be
ever so cross with me, even though their computer could have told them
i was in ward f6 on the other side of the hosp.)

Bad luck Robin - I hope you have a speedy recovery - certainly puts
things in perspective!

That's an NHS computer you're talking about ... you'll be lucky if
they have your name and address spelled correctly ;o)

If you did that then you wouldn't be good old grumpy alan any more!
Actually, I've just remembered that it is my John's birthday on Tuesday, so
had to start the annual racking the brains to think what to get him. I
can't believe he has got so old without me noticing! Mind you, he probably
thinks the same about me. 22 years ago he thought he was lucky that he'd
found a bit of tottie 10 years younger than him, but that doesn't count
anymore when you're both in middle age!!!

My father in law went through the mill with Prostate cancer 2 or 3 years
ago, but I'm please to say he seems quite well now.
It takes ages to get your energy back after being ill, but good to see that
you're getting about.

good for him; it's good to hear it works for some people.
i've had "issues" ever since, and am still not right.
