This is late from me, but Happy new year to you all. I've been tied up
doing christmas at home for the first time this year, with my mum staying.
I also had the daft idea that I wanted to redecorate the dining room
starting the wednesday before christmas, which wasn't the best idea.
Mum arrived on the sunday before, and I was frantically putting up the
christmas tree, and getting everything tidied, but it all got done in the
end. Then on christmas eve, I almost completely knacked myself with a bad
trip and fall, landing on my newest knee and bashing myself up quite a bit,
not to mention throwing a bowl of coleslaw all over the carpet and christmas
tree! However, no lasting damage thank goodness, and christmas was quite
lovely in the end.
My eldest son had a little too much to drink last night and was insisting on
sleeping on the couch downstairs, but in the end I managed to get him
upright and sent him to bed (although he did call me a slapper, for which he
got a good slap). So with him and his dad packed off to 2 different footie
matches today, I've had a peaceful new years day, which I always enjoy miles
more than New Year's Even (hate it).
So here's hoping we all have a good 2008, with as little pain or illness as
possible!

Shame we can't get rid of the M15 nonsense

Made me wonder ... where does the M15 run? ... never heard of it but
it sounds like it really should be a motorway.

But yes, typos aside, I have a mixed opinion about this person's
one-man crusade against MI5. In one way it is a good example of how
the internet can help people reach out, beat censorship and get a
minority story heard by a wide audience. On the other hand he is a
right-royal pain in the bottom. I'm not in favour of censoring him -
but it would be nice if he got some help for his condition and he
didn't waste his time plaguing newsgroups with his drivel.
Arthritis-wise I am doing OK ... but got flu at New Year and went
through 4 days of a clammy fever. Then after my recent MTX dose I
can't seem to shake off the feeling of nausea and fatigue. Just trying
to work out if it is the MTX or a chest infection! :o(
Happy 2008 to everyone!! :o)

Jayne, hope you didn't do any permanent damage to your knee. Sorry you lost
that good coleslaw! A good year to you, with much less pain and problems.

Hi Gwen - I'm fine now, there was no lasting damage apart from being a bit
shaken and achey for a while. I've just recovered from a corker of a head
cold, and have been left with an odd husky voice, but nothing else.
How are you now?

the cold that threatened me up to the hol period has now retreated.
the hospital called last weds saying they had a cancellation for
friday, and would i like to come in. so i had my operation on friday
and came out again on sunday. operation trouble free ... and they
didn't find any more cancer.
sorry ... the "relevant" alt.support... group is an impossible place
to post to: it spends far too much of its time slagging off the
communist british health service. i stopped going there when i
realised i had half of the current threads kill-filed.
whereas, i've nothing but good to say of the nhs. they treated me
efficiently, they put me in a new ward, and the ward staff were all
*great* -- friendly, supportive and cheerful thoughout. and i even
had a good view out of the window!

Glad to hear you're recovering from both the cold and the operation Robin -
long may you continue to do well!
