yesterday (sunday) my daughter came down from leicester, where she
practices as an anaethetist.  she came with her fianc'e (also a
doctor).  it's the first time i've seen them together since they
announced the engagement: looking at them, they seemed to be radiating
their love for each other.

warms the cockles of an old man's heart, it does :-)

Lets hope that lasts -- pardon the old cynic who has no less than Five
mates who are going through messy divorces at the moment!...

with him working in a&e[*] and her an anaesthetist, the relevance of
their specialities seems rather slim.  she does tend to know the guys
who put me under whenever i have an operation (another planned next
month...).

[*] he was working christmas day; whereas i had just got up when she
called for a christmas natter, having seen him off to work.  dead lazy
these doctors.  or not, as the case may be.

Funny but one rumey I saw a while ago sez I need some new hips and to
take Lodine continuously and nothing else alternative works... but a
Orthopaedic surgeon I went to see about replacing them sez that I should
really try rose hip syrup and cod liver oil reckons quite a few of his
patients swear by them!..
