I've had T for almost 10 years now. I have stayed away from live music
shows because of this.
Last night I attended an outdoor classic rock festival -- Foghat, Tesla,
and Styx. I wore my plugs and had a great time. I was a little
anxious to put the plugs in with so many people around watching me.
Then I thought, "Who cares what these people think." No one said
anything to me about it at all. I took them out between bands to visit
and when they got ready to play again, I popped them in.
I had a great time.
Also -- I didn't notice anyone else at all wearing plugs (except the
bands!). I made a point of looking.

A rock concert gave me tinnitus 9 months ago (stood much too close to the
speakers) and I haven't had the guts to go to another one ever since, even
with ear plugs. I have, however, attended many English & Dutch football
(soccer) matches. Often the music and speaking over the PA system is so loud
I know my plugs have saved me from further damage.

I prefer Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin (am I showing my age here ?).
Ironically the group which gave me "T" was the Dutch band Golden Earring!!!!
(Honestly, I am not making it up like someone once suggested in this NG).

I am also a bit embarrased to be seen putting them in an taking them out,
but then I thought, "who cares ?" like you did. My ear plugs are moulded to
fit precisely in my ears, and are transparent, therefore almost impossible
to notice once they are in. Are yours? If not maybe you should try and get
some.
