The other night, my T was so loud I had trouble concentrating. It scared me

Thanks.

I read in another thread today that tinnitus was causing a "fight or flight
response" in someone else. This really hit home with me. I thought I was
going to drown in a sea of crickets.

Hi Ken,

We can relate to your sea of crickets.

Try and understand that you'll probably have bad ear days and good ear days.

The habituation process is lengthy, but if you try and keep your cool things
can progress faster.

Tinnitus almost always becomes easier to handle and less often noticed as time
goes by. Are you using a source of moderate noise during the night, such as a
fan? That can help a lot.
