My tinnitus has gotten worse over the past month which coincides with my
taking of Lithium.  I was wondering if anyone else has had this same
experience.

I took a blood pressure pill which, as i was told, contains Lithium.
In the beginning, it brought about fullness of ear which disappeared
later on.  I also read it somewhere what you described above.  You
should not doubt what you are experiencing is 'imaginery'.  Get a doc
who knows a lot about medicine and move out of it to see if that is
the case.

Francis,

I am wondering what you mean by your blood pressure pill contains
Lithium.  Is it something like saying salt contains sodium, but sodium
and sodium chloride are two different things?

I think the name is Irbesartan.  I once took hydrochloride-thiazide,
which  released my head pressure but made my both ears ring.  Now, i
am taking Lasix and believe me, if used for more than 3 days, it will
also make my both ears ring.  That is why I am using it (20 mg) every
other day or on a particularly bad day just to help out.

Tinnitus is one of the side effects of Lithium, but it may diminish as you
adapt to the Lithium.  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU STOP TAKING THE
LITHIUM.  If the tinnitus is too much of a problem for you and you cannot
get used to it- talk to the prescribing doctor about it.
Let the doctor decide how to adjust your medications.
