Can any of you give me some tips on how to habituate to tinnitus. Any
web sites
or other references would be appreciated.

Here are a few that helped me, Eric:

1.  I have a clock radio that will shut itself off after an hour.  I set
that to the BBC and listen while I fall asleep.  By turning my attention to
what they are saying I turn it away from my tinnitus.  I'm usually sound
asleep long before the radio turns off.

2.  If you can, surround yourself with intelligent sound but at a low level.
This will mask your tinnitus to some extent and otherwise distract you.

3.  Get whatever assurance you need that you have classical tinnitus and it
isn't a symptom of something that is going to otherwise harm you.

4.  Don't monitor your tinnitus.  It will sound different from time-to-time
and just accept that.  Trying to attribute the variations to diet, or some
exotic herb is a waste of time that will only prolong habituation.
