chicken or the egg?

Kidding aside, I've had a ring in one ear for awhile, but I thought it was
curious after a recent concert - I could detect two distinct audible rings
in that ear afterwards.  One, obviously from the show which faded after a
couple of days, and the other my old friend.  Has this been the experience
of anyone else?

Sort of, Terry.  After I leave a casino I hear the sound of the slot
machines for about 1/2 hour, and then just the tinnitus sound.

Yep it is, in '93 I used to be in a band and one night it was so frickin'
loud my right ear (That was the side the guitarists amp was on) rang for two
weeks, then the noise shrunk to a steady quiet ring up until late '95, about
3 days after a gig the ringing grew louder and has been like that ever since
... I doubt that there will ever be a cure for cases like this as the injury
was somewhat self inflicted =)

Just to keep slightly on topic here and to add an amusing touch, I got my T
last November after standing too near to the speakers at a Golden Earring
concert near my home town in Holland. The first time I came to this NG some
geyser took offence as he thought I was taking the Michael. But it is true,
that really is the name of the band that has buggered up my King Lears.
They are still ringing for sure, but I am slowly getting used to it...thank
heavens.

Cheers,
Simon.

I noticed that the actual music didn't bother my ears at all, the pyro (i
was close to the stage) and the screaming were pure hell on em though.  And
I used plugs.
