Why do these creeps flood the newsgroups daily with their offer of nude
pictures of celebrities?
Is it to catch your e mail address and sell it ?
Is it to ask for money to sell the pictures?
Are they simply psycopaths?
Just curious.
It seems to me the government could go after the spammers who ask for money
since they can trace the money and find them that way.
Good reason to ask for a registration before allowing anyone to post.

Thats the price you pay for NOT censoring these groups.
..They would be of no use to anyone if they were censored.
Live with it.

Because it works for them.

They've probably got it all ready

Well, of course!

They read the rantings going on here and feel we're the psychopaths!

What newsgroups are you reading, Murray?
I don't get any offers of nude pictures of celebrities on this
newsgroup. Perhaps my provider filters them?

They don't. Those posts originate on computers that are affected with
some virus or worm. Mostly they get filtered by the newsservers,
properly configured newsservers filter attachments in non-binary
newsgroups.

Wouldn't make any difference with vira/worms. Most usenet newsservers DO
however require registration. Some private ones don't,
news.microsoft.com is one example, but it is not a part of usenet even
though many providers do mirror it.
