I am new to this list. I've had tinnitus for about 4 years caused by repeated exposure to loud noise. The tinnitus seems to be getting louder every year. I haven't seen any discussion about masking devices. Has anyone had success with these? Some people like maskers. However, most do not. There is a very high rate of return for maskers......so be sure to get an agreement with the audiologist about a generous trial period and a reasonable fee for 'trying' before you order them. Maskers seem to work better if you have hearing loss and are using a combo-unit, with a hearing aid and a masker in 1 ear. I hope you will let us know how it goes if you do decide to try one. I have redressed the balance in this, and just talk about tinnitus now. I have not had any conflict with him but know people have their reasons.
