It appears the Israeli dr's might have been prescribing magnesium for tinnitus
to their distressed soldiers.

Anyone else have any information on this?

Has there been any studies on the effects of magnesium in tinnitus patients?

Seems magnesium is a cure all for many illnesses including anxiety,
palpitations, raynauds, cfs, fibro, ms, etc..

It appears we are all taking in too little magnesium.

My doctor (one of ...) that CHLORPROMAZINE can be used to treat(or
even cure) tinnitus and it contains magnesium.  Could you check on
this?

The chemical formulation of chlorpromazine is:

C   H   CIN S·2C H O
 20  24     3      4  4  4

There is no Mg in it!

Yes, magnesium is one of the products for tinnitus.

Magnesium supports healthy nerve function in the auditory system and protects
the arterial linings from physical stress

Hi Murray,

One web site recommended 400mg of magnesium 2x a day for tinnitus.

Are there any double blinded studies that have shown promise with magnesium?

Since the recommended allowance for an adult is apx 350mg per day do you know
of any negative reaction to this high dose besides nausea and diarreha?

Perhaps this is something all T sufferers should give a try being there seems
to be nothing to lose.

Doses of 400mg - 800 mg are also recommended for adhd, angina, arrhythmia,
asthma, bronchitis, cfs, chronic pane chf, crohns, diabetes, fatigue,
fibrocystic breast changes,  fibromyalgia, prevention of heart disease, kidney
stones, ms, osteoporosis, raynauds, strains, stress, stroke.

Sounds like its' and all around miracle mineral :)

*WARNING* If you have kidney or heart disease consult your doctor before
taking magnesium.

You can do a web searh for tinnitus and magnesium and call up many interesting
sites.

Remember in those old movies where someone would be taking a photograph and
holding up a little pedestal that would produce a flash?  They were igniting
a little pile of powdered magnesium.  It is a metal that burns rather
quickly.  :-)

Remember that curious brain flash syndrome we share?  I haven't had one for
a few years now so maybe I need some magnesium.

Speaking about the zaps ...

Magnesium salts have a very impressive laxative effect ... but I
suspect you were referring to a different sort of zap!  :-)

Cheaper than Surfax and less calories than prunes.

I'll keep ya posted :)
