Hi I hear this strange sound when I lay on my right ear. It sounds like
a rubberband poping. Or maybe a jewsharp. I am complely deaf in my left
ear. The nerve was cut during surgery. Has anyone else experinced this?

I've not heard of anything like that before, although constant
tinnitus can  apparantly exist after 8th nerve section.

I'm very curious as to the possible mechanism.
Why did you have the surgery?  And did they physically sever the
nerve, or did they destroy it with a drug?
