I have had Tinnitus on and off in both ears for years.
In the last four months it has come and mostly stayed.
I say mostly because it is worst in the middle of the night upon waking.
But on some days, maybe 1 in 5, it has gone by 8-9 pm.
It is however, slowly getting worse. (sounds like a TV transformer whistle)
and I am getting to the point where I am slowly going nuts.
Because there are rare blessed moments when it is not there, I am now
spending 90% of my thinking time trying to find something that affects it.
(food, light, drugs etc). so far no results.
I have Just found that clamping my jaw tightly increases both the volume and
frequency of the sound. This leads me to believe that if it can be altered
physically, there may be a physical explanation - cure.
Has anyone else experienced sound changes with jaw pressure change?
Does anyone know of an orthodontic nerve pressure cause?
I would love to hear
Thanks

It has been my opinion that muscle tension has a lot to do with it.
Especially neck and shoulder muscles.
Tinnitus is a pain in the neck

Such changes are very common. Pressure in the jaw, neck, head areas are common
influencers of tinnitus. But even distant muscle tension (such as in the
extremities) can influence tinnitus.
There is research on this subject. You can find some of it on the web by
searching on Robert Levine and somatic tinnitus.
If your tinnitus has come on for no obvious reason, you should have a medical
evaluation.
