Terri, I decided to do a Google search for "Nagler" and "disability".
This is dated November of 2001. Was it any different now that two
years have passed? He has on his mind reporting someone who has posted
on AST - something we just saw him threaten again. And at the end he
just wishes to get back to tinnitus. I've never seen anything like
this outside of Cuckoo's Nest.
Below he will state "It's not for us to judge." But that's all I see
as I read of this obsession of his.
Me, I'm not a believer. There always is an ulterior motive, IMO.

I have to agree with Howard here. Simpson has demonstrated that he
can focus on a project (me, in this instance) for prolonged periods of
time over several months in a communications medium that reaches the
world over.
He may indeed need to be on disability. He may not. It is not for us
to judge. But if Simpson can work as hard as he has with
single-minded determination over almost a year's time as he has
clearly demonstrated on ast, he'll have a helluva time proving
disability to the satisfaction of the government authorities. No
doubt Simpson is stupid for so publicly demonstrating his talents.
But - last time I looked - stupidity was not a criteria for
disability. Nor is being depressed! Depression to the extent that it
prevents you from working is - but not depression in-and-of-itself.
No, I have no plans to interfere with John Simpson's disability
process. I can only say that whoever has turned him down to this
point seems to be pretty astute.
Ron Yoli just asked for hard copy of John Simpson's posts over the
past year. I do not believe that Ron would do such a thing, but do
you think that if that hard copy ever found its way to the hands of
the government disability authorities, they would consider Simpson to
be disabled? Stupid - yes. Hateful and vengeful - yes. Bigotted -
yes. Disabled - not likely based upon the volume, intensity, and
focus of a year's literary efforts.
Tinnitus anyone?

Another diagnosis from the great doctor regarding a "patient" he never
examined.
Hopefully lawmakers will create some guidelines to prevent doctors
from abusing this medium, taking advantage of people and giving people
the idea that they have some ability to offer them advice without
examining them. Unfortunately, as long as there are people looking to
save a buck and get free advice, there will be doctors that need to
have people worshipping them like Gods so badly that they'll even give
inappropriate advice to get it.

That, Terri, is an absolute mouthful.
But the real problem is not just those who either have high deductible
or co-pays on their health care, but those who would take advantage of
the new tinnitus sufferer who has yet to normally habituate at all and
is scared to death. Telling them of expensive treatment that they just
happen to sell and profit from is where the AMA or FDA must rule to
protect them. Now that is the truly disgusting part and what, IMO,
ruined this newsgroup.

Steve, I am asking you again. Please help make this a better place by
setting aside acrimony and bitterness.
Thanks.

Thanks much for what you are trying to do. But if personal criticism
and digs are going to stop on this newsgroup, it has to go both ways.

Stay out of this, doctor. Don't play peacemaker. It's just more grist
for their mill. There is nothing you can say to or about Conlon and
his trusty sidekick, Terri, that they won't twist into an attack on
you. It is simply who and what they are. Your best tactic in relation
to these two a.sholes is to ignore them, and anything related to them.

No, stupid. Check my headers against Nagler's if you're at all
literate. I'm not Nagler. I've made you an offer in another thread
that will help you to get rid of me. It's threaded to one of your
posts. Go look for it.
