A magazine article was handed to me in Canadian Homemaker. Not wanting to
type the whole thing in I found an online article to the same effect.

Just curious, why do you call this BS?

Yes, I've read his meanderings before.  This particular post
interested me because I have first hand experience with vertigo and
having it treated by an ENT, a real live MD no less, using the methods
outlined in the link you posted.  I want to understand what medical
prowess bluto brings to the table to discount that method.

I must be having a bad day.  Is it because the company printing this
stuff doesn't make it standard practice to recommend shoving
medications down people's throats as their first course of action for
any ailment?  Or, is it something different?  Please educate me.

Dr. Bluto,

This is not BS, this is standard treatment for this type of vertigo.  I had
this vertigo,
and this treatment was presribed by a specialist (here is the USA), which
worked.
Or it went away on its own.

Wrong again. This article refers to a standard treatment used by neurologist
and ENT and is in all the current textbooks.

Bluto, you are at about the same level as fypoon.
Have you ever made a positive or helpful comment?

You or I may not agree with fypoon's statements and suggestions but your
comparison demosnstrates a lack of manners, open mindedness and
intelligence.

To clarify:

1) BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo caused by the inner ear
2) BPPV is readily treatable by a repositioning maneuver
3) Drugs do not treat BPPV rather may mask its symptoms
4) Many ENT/Neurologist/Physio can do the repositioning maneuver to
treat BPPV
5) Home devices such as the DizzyFIX ( www.dizzyfix.com ) allow anyone
to do the maneuver by yourself
6) More information on BPPV is easily available on the internet - see
( www.emedicine.com )
