I periodically have a three day spell of tinnitus due to caffeine, chocolate
and a few other triggers.  To help shorten this period, I am trying a
cold/allergy antihistamine tablet but don't know if that makes sense.  Also,
I have some Singulair that I may try too.

Would the pressure due to fluid in the ear (labyrinth, inner ear, or
wherever) get reduced with any of these medications?

Does any of this make any sense at all?

It may change the chemicals or pressure in your brain that make you perceive
it.

Not likely related to your ears at all, only perceived there.

That seems to be the case, Janice, although I thought that these medications
could
have affected the sinus-ears in some way.

Thanks, Dave C.

Possibly but people have had auditory nerves cut and they still hear
it...amonst the silence now.
