fyfpoon@gmail.com - 05 Jan 2008 01:56 GMT The M 15 invasion into this ng without a doubt has discouraged the on- going discussion on tinnitus but this M 15 mental nut is not the only one to blame. The other participants, particularly the professional, should chip in their share of original posts too, aside from simply answering questions.
For example, people like Dr. Murray and Jim Chinnis can post some of the newest findings in the field of tinnitus treatment---if there is any. After all, these professionals are at the front edge of development in tinnitus treatment. If these professionals don't enlighten us, how would the amateurs like ourselves get informed. That said, I understand there are opposing views even amongst the professionals, which makes discussion even more interesting.

Have you tried news alerts on google news? That is a pretty good news service if you want to keep abreast of the latest published articles on tinnitus. I use gmail so I think they are automatically forwarded to my email address. If you like I can post the links here when they arrived...

Murray Grossan - 06 Jan 2008 06:45 GMT Neuro plasticity is being shown in the VA repair work.
3 things do help T A. Measured breathing - in 4 and out 6. This sends a message that T is not a "bad." B. Mirror biofeedback. When muscles are relaxed you don't have anxiety. And you send a message that this is not a threat. C Cognition. You have to accept that this is a physiologic phenomenon - electrical and not a threat.

1. Avoid reading posts by Murray Grossan, MD. This sends a message that bad advice should be ignored. 2. Spit in a mirror. When spittle obscures the mirror image, you can't see how anxious you look. 3. Cognition. You have to accept that Janice, FP, and Grossan are all worthless scam artists, and brain dead to boot.

Back to the old days in North America or partcularly in America, the word 'trash' was used to refer to a poor ignorant white person. But in today's multicultural society, a trash is "an individual that may or may not be poor, but is monumentally ignorant and quite possibly stupid".
Janice - 16 Jan 2008 13:44 GMT Actually there was, a Capt'n Ron Yoli that used to post here in the old days. He was a tinnitus sufferer that vested one tinnitus grandstander's clinic to get a "cure" for his noises and wasn't impressed. After the particular Dr tried to oust Lix, Yoli and a few others tried their best to rid the groups of the repressing, trolling, hacking Dr. from the group.
Rumour has it that Capt'n Ron Yoli died a few years back and many took the word of the Dr. that is was the truth. I am not sure it was ever confirmed by a second, reliable source.
Yoli was far from a troll, as the current one acts but was a man with a mission, along with a few others here. Proof of that is, the trash talk all stopped as soon as the Dr troll stopped participating here. Oh, he tried his usual antics with different nicknames, but was easily picked out of a crowd, and newer computer securities prevented some of the hacking that was frequent during his reign of terror.
This was never Yoli's style. He didn't act like trash. Lix did frequently when pushed into frustration by the sheeple following the Dr., apparently.
So the question, in my mind, still remains about Capt'n Yoli but, this was not his style, at all. Murray, in his taught attitude, is trying to stir trouble, or defending his common faith or profession with the Dr. in question.

Actually, Ron Yoli did state on this group and to me in private phone conversations that he'd been helped tremendously by the treatment by the doctor mentioned. He changed his tune after a financial dispute over the cost of equipment, IIRC, and made it his life's mission to attack that doctor here and through repeated telephone harassment.
> Rumour has it that Capt'n Ron Yoli died a few years back and many took > the word of the Dr. that is was the truth. I am not sure it was ever > confirmed by a second, reliable source. It was posted here not by the Dr. but by Ron Yoli's widow, Barbara Yoli, and his obituary appeared in his local newspapers and online. It's not a rumor that he'd died.

I'm not going to speak ill of the dead, but Yoli's posting history is evidence enough of how he conducted himself.

In his cups he invested ast with such wit and insight as:

I confess, I object to persons who ruin newsgroups that are meant to assist persons who come there for information or just to vent. I confess I object to persons who insult visitors for their own gain and thereby discourage others from visiting a newsgroup.

You're so confessional Murray. Are you as confessional about the placebo you peddle to people seeking help? Peddlers like yourself should be discouraged from newgroups, you're no different than any other spammer.

One of the main reasons I come here is in the hope of reading a posting by Murray. He always seems perfectly objective to me, even humourous at times. His advice I really do take seriously. It would be a great pity if we did not have members from the medical community posting here.

Janice - 17 Jan 2008 23:54 GMT Well we all have a job to do here and that is not to feed the trolls.
I doubt anybody wants a repeat of the nagler, lix, yoli, blue, steve fiasco we had here.
I believe with enough prompting almost 95% of the posters can be made into "trolls". It usually means somebody has a hatred on or has been hurt emotionally. Trolls are usually created by hard nosed know-it-alls and most won't happen with a little consideration.
