Hi all,

I have probably (besides from Tinnitus) also been given the wonderful
Ménière's disease.

Therefore I would like to ask if anyone has any info on alternative / "
healthy" medicine or just some good advice....anything....

I´m only 30 so I really hope to find some help somewhere...

Best wishes,
Anders

A friend of mine in Hong Kong was suffering from both tinnitus and
vertigo for about 6 months and it was gone and gone forever!  But
whenever I told this story to the audience in this ng, they either
expressed disbelief or ridicule.

At any rate, this fellow used the following method to cure his
illness.  The methods so used were taught him by a medical professor
at the University of Hong Kong:

(1)He lied on a bench each night before bed time and did weight
lifting.  The idea was to pump enough blood into the head. He did it
so hard and made himself so tired that he went to sleep without the
use of any addictive drugs.
(2)He chewed bubble gums all day long so that his jaws got exercised a
lot to get blood into into the inner ears.
(3)He did take some herb med, tho I am not sure what he used.  But you
can take ginko biloba.

Thanks for your answer!

I actually already do weight-lifting (not right before sleep though) and I
am generally very healthy.  I¡äve had tinnitus since I was 14 so I know
albout that. But now I also have vertigo I guess.  Why does it help if you
chew bubble gum? Is it really true that  more blood will circulate in the
inner ear if you chew a lot of bubble gum?

Thanks,
Anders

No. Besides Meniere's disease is not a disease of circulation.

Low salt diet works for many people. You can drink Distilled water and that
takes salt out of the system. Carbonic enzyme type diuretics work for many.

Ok, many thanks!

What exactly is "Carbonic enzyme type diuretics"?

Anders

Chewing gum or lifting weights does nothing for Meniere's disease.
Nothing.  But the vertigo you are experiencing can have other causes.
I would recommend that you get a good work up by
an ear specialist.  Sometimes, as Murray says, eliminating salt and
using a diuretic can help, if in fact you do have Meniere's.

In general, I advise you to ignore fyfpoon's advice.  It is usually
baloney.

Good luck.
