tex - 16 Aug 2007 16:04 GMT If you had this kind of tinnitus can you tell me how are you today ? Is it worse ?
Thanks for your responses.

Rather than trying to obtain more data, i suggest you would be better off theorizing less but doing more. Go for an appointment with Murray, unless you are so disillusioned with doctors to the point that you think all doctors are quacks.
tex - 16 Aug 2007 17:59 GMT All the doctors that i saw are too full of themselves to know somthing about treatments. I prefer to ask on internet it's more interesting.. I learn more..

I learn more.. During the onset of my T, i went to almost 15 doctors. Most of them are "too full of themseves" but once in a while you do get someone who is _experienced_ in treating tinnitus. If you were here in China, I could introduce you to the best TCM and modern doctors whom I saw. They have the experience of treating tinnitus but above all are very willing to learn from their tinnitus patients. The latter quality tells them apart from the others who are "too full of themselves".
I suppose Murray is operating where you are or the US of A. He has the the experience of not only operating locally but overseas. In particular, he is somewhat willing to learn about something which he is not too familar with. At least for the past years since I came to this ng he has been somewhat willing to put up with my sh.t!
That said, i think it is better for you to see someone who is experienced in treating tinnitus than some hillbillie academicians whose specialty is in monkeying around with studies after studies. I managed to find my answer to my T only after "trying everything". Amongst the things I tried, one was doctors' advices. So unless money is the hindrance, you should talk to doctors who have the experience of treating tinnitus and do so one by one. Give each one no more than TWO chances.

I was reflecting it's very dangerous in china for the new year with all these firecrackers in the street, many chinese have to endure traumas..

You may experience a rain of firecrackers when you talk down the narrow alleys in the villages but I don't think you will see cluster bombs of firecrackers coming down from high rises in the cities. The Hollywood movies may tell a different story, of course.

>From France? How interesting! So the ENT doctors in France, as far as treating tinnitus is concerned, are as 'hillbillie' as the American ones.
The name of the herb in Mandarin is QI JU DI HUANG WAN. But it may take a long time. It is not a quick fix. OK?

I take Ginkgo but my tinnitus is very recent (1 month), I can't say that Ginkgo helps me but I think if we want preserve our ears for many years we have to take ginkgo all our life For now my hyperacusis is tolerable but I hope without worsening later..

Rjmail - 18 Aug 2007 14:11 GMT > "Rjmail" <raste...@yahoo.com> wrote in message Mine seems to be without hearing loss. I tried the ginko (gave me bad headaches). (Actually part of the Arches supplements). I tried a long time with chiropractors. I tried accupuncture. I tried low salt / low carbo diets. I tried the dieuretics. I tried various exercises. I am now trying the TMJ splint treatment, but so far, no help.

I have been to half a dozen different ones and they are all different in their approach and treatment.
You need a hands on one. You do not need to lie in pelvic blocks. That might be good for some people.
You need one who will give you a good massage - will find out where the tense muscles are - will give you exercises to do at home etc.
My current chiro can find a sore muscle before I knew I had one.

Mr. Y - 18 Aug 2007 01:29 GMT I have T that changes when I move my jaw. I think that over 50% of T suffers have this kind of T. I think it is called somantic T if it can be changed by physical movements.
Mine gets worse when I push my jaw forward. The TMJ specialist said I didnt' have TMJ, but had some swelling near my jaw, but it was highly unlikely treatment would help. The nurse the TMJ office said that of the people she knew with T that was TMJ related it was a high pitched tone.

Visit a chiro once a week for a period of time and see if anything improves. I went to visit a chiro about 3 years ago and it took me 5 consecutive treatments before I finally managed to make a connection between the 'click' in my neck and that part in my brain that irritated.
tex - 19 Aug 2007 12:41 GMT Tell me when you eat or when you are under the shower, do you hear your tinnitus ?
Gex - 19 Aug 2007 13:50 GMT > Tell me when you eat or when you are under the shower, do you hear your > tinnitus ? When I eat it's much louder, due to TMJ and jaw movements, taking a shower, sometimes i do, sometimes don't . I mean, i try to forget about it
