Do you have a hyperacusis ?

I just wrote in previous post that I do have it, but it's not so strong. I
mean, louder sounds are killing me (music in bars, lawnmover etc), but some
ordinary sounds, like talk, taking a shower or so are still acceptable...
Do you know what caused it? I have TMJ disorder, and when I move my jaw,
open mouth, loudness increases..
Tell me how you live with that? I'm feeling totally depressed because of it
(and lots' of other health problems, but that is for some other group). I
dunno how to accept it, i would like to turn it off, and I know I can't, the
fact I'm helpless is knockin me down. And it's so anoying, even hurt how
loud it is...

Hi Tex,
You have TMJ and other health problems. Do these include back/neck
problems?
Find yourself a trusted massage therapist who will tell you whether
you have muscular tension in your body - where it is - and hopefully
what to do about it. A doctor will not tell you these things.
TMJ is proof of tension in the body.

Been there, done that. My TMJ problem is much more complex. I went to
chinese massage, it helped my back, but TMJ is a long and different story. I
known a lot about connection about back and TMJ, but, that' not my case.
Thanks for the advice, though. And it's Gex, not Tex :)
