Out of all the controlled studies brought out by the high-tech
scientists who have shown up so far in this ng, the method of sound
masking, according to my experience, seems the most beneficial and not
a bit harmful.
I remember the time when my T was torturing me, I found myself
frequently going into the noisy streets in a small town in China in
order to listen to the high-pitched braking sound produced by the
bicycles.
For the past few months, I have been staying in a dormitory of a
Chinese school. Behind the dormitory is a patch of large trees where
a lot of cicadas dwell.
A cicada is an insect "the male of which produces a shrill sound by
means of vibrating membranes on the underside of the abdomen". The
weather here is very hot and humid, and I tend to dose into sleeping
at noon time. Napping used to be very bad for my T but I have
discovered lately that napping in the midst of cicadas' vibrating
sound no longer bothers me. And this has been true ever since I moved
into this dormitory surrounded by trees where cicadas dwell.
So perhaps for those whom napping still bothers, they should try to
turn on a high-pitched sound device when they nap. I suppose If you
could record the natural sound of cicadas', it would even be better.

Great idea. More brilliance from the idiot savant of tinnitus.
Reading your posts is like taking a forced walking tour of your own
living room.

Do you need a treatment for the eradiction of a bad habit which you
may have inherited from your foreparents who migrated to NA from the
lowest social echelon in the home countries?
Say so if you need one....

Yes I found the sound of crickets to be very soothing..
And the sound comming to you from various directions seems to be a
factor too so I made a stereo recording of crickets outdoors.
