I am not sure I agree with that . Certain drugs are safe but an overdose can
kill you MP3 players played at the correct volume shouldn't do any harm. But
if someone wants to amp it up to that it can blow the ear out, that is NOT
the fault of the MP3 player.
Like blaming the HI Fi in the automobile. "The General Motors HI FI player
caused my tinnitus" . Yes, but who asked to to play it so loud that you
could hear it 2 blocks away?? I have been around the block too often to
accept these "pronouncements" at face value without real scientific proof as
to genuine cause.

I think the point of the article was to identify mp3 players as only
the latest tool to destroy one's hearing.  Most tools have legitimate
uses, but their mis-use can be hurtful or deadly  (refer to the movie
Jackass for idiotic proof). More people probably know of Tinnitus, the
band (http://www.geocities.com/tinnitus2001/), than Tinnitus, the
hearing condition.  So many kids are gleefully cranking up the ipod
volume listening to Tinnitus these days that they may develop a
permanent case of Tinnitus as an older adult.  I'm glad for any
warnings put forward by the media to combat the ignorant mis-use of
these and other sound-making tools.

having said that, what bothers me about the article is that it is just
an advertisement for T G-o-n-e, which I have personally tried and
received zero benefit from.  It looks and tastes like cake mix.  I'd
suggest going with  Crocker cake mix instead, much, much cheaper.
prweb seems like one big advertisement website.  I doubt anyone checks
the 'facts' put forward by any of the 'authors'.
