This is a preview of an article I wrote that is going to be in the next
issue of Tinnitus today.

Dear ATA,
This February will mark my 10 year anniversary of living with Tinnitus.
I am 29 years old and am really amazed at how far I have come and all
that I have learned during my first 10 years. For my first year I was
afraid to leave my home and enter to noisy world outside. Now I am
happily married and 8 months ago my wife and I were blessed with a
beautiful baby boy. It has been quite a ride, and one that during the
past 10 years has brought me to try enough methods for relief that to
mention them all in this letter would make this issue of Tinnitus Today
Thicker than a Sears Catalog. Through the help of my Angel, Dr. Gail
Brenner, and the TRT therapy she helped me through, I am able to be
where I am today. I would love to take all that I have tried and
everything I have been through and share it with the growing number of
young adults that are developing tinnitus who think there is no hope. I
thought perhaps, write my own self help book explaining my journey that
a younger generation can relate to or maybe start my own website for
young adults looking for some hope. 10 years ago it was difficult for
me to find someone else my age trying to adjust there lifestyle to one
coping with tinnitus. I would like to help.

This brings me to the reason I am writing. Since the new Playstation 3
came out this Holiday season to such high demand and low supply my wife
and I decided to invest in a few to put on eBay. Seeing that some were
being sold at ridiculous prices of up to a million dollars I decided to
give it a shot and put the bundle that we invested in at a high price
to raise money for the ATA. My plan was that even if no one ended up
purchasing my auction at such a high price, the high traffic to my
auction page would at least get people to read my cause and bring the
public more aware of tinnitus. I'm not looking for millions of
dollars; I just want to make a difference. Hopefully if someone does
purchase my auction at the 'Buy it Now' price it would bring a nice
donation to a great cause, allow me to pay back my investment and some
extra money that would come in handy with the new family. I look
forward to keeping everyone posted on how my auction worked out.

So weather you pronounce it tin-ni-tus or ti-nite-us, let it all unite
us! Believe in a cure!
Much love to all,
Pat

Interesting idea. Very questionable motives though.

Best of luck with that.

Gail Brenner is always spoken of very highly. I'm glad you are doing so
well.

Wow, pretty generous of you, only keeping $100,000 for yourself!!  I
certainly hope it was a fake bidder that ended your auction.
