hello,
I was reading about PET and i understand everybody, im actually 19 years old
and ive had the problem for almost 6 years or even more ... i dont remember.
When i was a child i had frequent colds and ear infections which the doctors
said might have triggered PET. Well the case is that it wasnt that worse
until recently that I lost 20lbs in less than 5 months(Depression). The
autophony, pain, and allergies got worse (never in my life suffered from
allergy) but anyway. Because it got worse and it would sometimes interfere
with my studies and work I went with the first doctor, but seem not to care,
plus that day he was going out of town. So the following week i went to a
doctor in Tijuana, Mexico and she quickly diagnosed me with PET. She said
theres basically no cure for it since Dr. and scientist are still doing
research on it. She gave me medicine but didnt work, then she put me on a
diet of no dairy, not too much red meats and not too much coffe and to try to
not get tooo nervous/stresses since all these cause my PET to get worse, and
i worked. The only thing is that I gained 4lbs recently and stopped drinking
coffee since coffee makes your PET worse. Gaining 4lbs has kept my tubes
closed for the entire day IF and only IF i dont talk.... when ever i talk i
get autophony, but thats something I have gotten used to, it doesnt affect me
as much but it does get annoying when talking.

NOTE: i think the surgeries and those irritating drops, in the long run they
will make PET much worse.

You might be right. You can certainly work at reducing stress and (if your
weight is still low) gaining weight. There's a good description of all the
ways to reduce stress at:
http://www.fi.edu/brain/relieve.htm

The PET may go away in time with your efforts. Exercise may help both with
stress reduction and with keeping depression at bay.
