I was reading Fred's post down the list about learning to deal with it.
I have a real loud ringing in my ears, I work in a noisy atmosphere for the
past 35 years, (autobody repair). I have had it for about 8 years, but I
have not let it bother me. I can tell my hearing is impaired by it, I
really have to concentrate on a conversation at times.
After reading here, there seems that there is not much hope in any
relief.....
Stress seems to adding to it, and my life for the past 10 years has been
VERY Stressful.
Thanks for any input...

>Hey Gord I myself have work related tinnitus I actually quit my job of 10 years
because I could not wear ear plugs any longer, that was pure torture. All
I can say is that
valium has helped me personally as well as getting into a different
line of work, which is easier said than done, like I always say try to
keep mentally busy with puzzles or videogames I know it sounds silly
for us older guys but it really helps take the mind off the ringing I
also take serax to sleep at night because if I dont get my 6 hours
sleep its really brutal all the best chris
