The Sound of the Cosmos

Sometimes a good "reframe" is as helpful as anything else.

A few years ago, I wrote an article that was published in a local
paper. It was essentially a coming to terms with T.

In some circles, we read about a universal Sound. Mystics try to
reproduce what they believe that Sound is by chanting a mantra. It's my
view that we who have T know very well what that Sound is. We don't
have to chant it. We hear it. It's always with us.

I, for one, receive the Sound in stereo. There are moments when the
dominance shifts from one ear, or "track" to the other. It can get to
be amusing if I concentrate enough on it. And when the volume
increases, that can very well mean that I'm "tuning in" with greater
accuracy to the Sound of the Cosmos.

Would you want that sound to persist at the current volume?  If there
are ways by which the volume of the sound can be reduced over time,
would you welcome that or would you still reject it because you want to
be in tune with the cosmo?

It's been six months. Sorry. But I have to answer your questions.

I would like the sound to go away rather than find a viable coping
strategy. One of the ways to keep going and function is to frame the
problem as a normal process.

I think you can do both at the same time...Why not?

I dunno. I'd kinda like to think the cosmos makes a pleasing sound.

Are you, perhaps, a follower of the teachings of PD Ouspensky who was a
follower of Gurdjieff?
"The first fundamental law of the universe is the "Law of Three". Every
phenomenon is the result of simultaneous action of the three forces --
the positive, the negative, and the neutralizing.  The next fundamental
law of the universe is the "Law of Seven" or the "Law of Octaves". In
order to understand the meaning of this law it is necessary to regard
the universe as consisting of vibrations." - G (circa 1917)

Is it these vibrations that we hear? And that in hearing them we are in
tune with the universe?  Cool beans.

Why not view it this way? There's no harm in it. I can be amused by the
idea rather than be victimized by the sound.
