Martin Smith - 20 Aug 2006 06:51 GMT The exchange rate for the Yuan is about 8 per US dollar, which means your fillings cost about 160 Yuan. How much does a loaf of bread cost in China in Yuan?

The cost for *my* 2 fillings is 160 yuan, which enables the purchase of 32 loafs of bread. Thus one filling enables the purchase of 16 loafs of bread.
How many loafs of bread does it take to have a filling done in affluent America?

I'm not sure, but since someone in your financial bracket would have dental insurance, the cost would be much less than 32 loaves of bread, I would think.
And in America, dentists have to pay for their offices and equipment. They also have to buy malpractice insurance.
Why did you have to replace the filling?

You, on the other hand, are bragging about how cheap dental work is in your communist country, where the state pays all major expenses for the dentist.
Look up ironic in the dictionary. I bet you will find your picture there.

I learned on this software ancient years ago, and I still like it better than what is offered by my former employer. Part of my retirement benefit is free e-mail for life, y'see. So it's either Pine or Mulberry. I don't like Mulberry very much, but I use it occasionally when I want to send or open an attachment. Pine is almost the same as the original Berkeley mail.

ooops! That's a scam, isn't it.
No, they're both free. Wheeew!. That was close.
Eva Quesnell - 21 Aug 2006 15:44 GMT > Well, eliminating tinnitus probably requires change. Switching to > Firefox or Opera could be the first step. Y'know what? I'll do as I please. Your sarcasm is uncalled for. Let me know when you've "eliminated" your tinnitus. I've habituated to mine. Arguing with me about which software programs I choose to use is a sign to me that you just like to argue. Now I understand why you go doggedly back and forth with fypoon.

This is a total non sequitur meant only to insult. Habituating to my tinnitus doesn't mean I've lost my spine or my ability to tell someone like you that I'll do as I please. I will not play word games with you. You can do that with fypoon. You are a troll just like he is -- have fun trolling each other. I'll not respond to you again.

fyfpoon@gmail.com - 21 Aug 2006 18:21 GMT That you and others have been lurking and reading is a clear reflection that whatever goes on between myself and Martin has more value beyond what 'bozo' filter can handle.

Today, I expect a filling to be about US$100, whcih converts to between 50 nd 200 loaves of brad, depnding on bread elegance.

Janice - 25 Sep 2006 23:45 GMT Mine typically come in at $150-$225 Canuck for plastic fillings. These are usually slightly more expensive than the mercury amalgam ones.
I don't buy bread so I cannot say. I think $1.29-$3.49 a loaf

(But if you really want a juicy topic then you oughta compare the mortality rates at chinese hospitals and dentist offices with the US. Are these numbers even available in China?)
