What's interesting is that the spammer blasted this into around 30
other newsgroups mostly containing the word 'sex' in their name. Do
they think that Tinnitus is linked with an elevate libido?

Or, maybe spammers thought this ng is about the rock band 'Tinnitus'
(http://www.tinnitusrocks.com/)?  Ironic that a rock band chose the
name Tinnitus which is prolly the condition they'll be getting shortly.
Here's the lead drummer's testimony at the ENT office,  "Ya know, like,
I was in this really cool, rad, rock band, Tinnitus. We, like, really
knew how to pump up the volume man.  Anyway, like, lately I've been
getting this, like, ringing in my ears that wont go away. Usually I
smoke a little jamaican and it goes away, but that doesnt cut it
anymore. Like, do I need stronger meds man?"
Here's a quote direct from their website (no kidding, complete with
mispellings):
"Help spread Tinnitus, herass  your favorite local rock stations to
spin TINNITUS tracks. Thanks to all of you  for keeping those DJs
pumping your favorite TINNITUS songs! Check out our sponsers page to
see all the folks spinning TINNITUS ! "
Regards.

It has always fascinated me how people will vote against their best interest
and do things that harm them - as in playing the music too loud.

There are two restaurants in my area that I won't go back to because of the
noise level. Not only me, but others I speak to won't go there either. So,
someone tell me, why on earth do they insist on blasting their customers
with such loud volume when it is clear it drives people away?

I ask for it to be turned down.  Happened last weekend, twice in the
same place after someone turned it up.

Movies and concerts are a problem, though.
