one of the causes of tinnitus is meniere disease. in 1993 i found out
that the hearing of my left ear deteriorated and the disease was
diagnosed: meniere. of course tinnitus came as a bonus. i found out
that the meditation practice i had done supported me in dealing with
the disease and tinnitus. when there was an illusion of movement
causing balance problems i turned my attention inwards and the
spinning of the world reduced. meditation made it also possible to
deal with tinnitus: it is there al the time but it seldom attracts my
attention. meditation made tme not fighting it. it is not an enemy
harassing me. it is not something that ruins my life. i made peace
with it and now it draws little attention. i have no thoughts wishing
it to go away: it is simply there. i also have the luck that i found
Tibetan herbal Pills that reduced the effect of the disease. These
pills are for the treatent of the kidney. kidney and ear are
interdependant in Tibetan Medicne. our increased knowledge of the ear
and vestibular system confirms this ancient knowledge: both organs
produce liquids wirth a different electrolyte concentration. More
information on tibetann medicine on:
http://www.tibetaansegeneeskunde.nl/
(the dutch assocation for Tibetan Medicine where a Tibetan Doctor
practices who is educated at the Tibetan Medical Institute patronised
by his Holiness the Dalai Lama).
please note that i discribed my way of dealing with tinnitus. it is a
very peronal approach and not ment to judge others or offend those who
have severe problems. but maybe some of you can find some relief with
what i discribed. than this small story has served its purpose.

ARE THERE ANY CONTROLLED STUDIES ON THESE HERB MED FROM THE TIBETANS
performed by American doctors?  Anything that has not gone through the
placebo study is rejected in this group right away.

Your problem is you don't get your facts straight. You have just lied.
Correct your lie or be called a liar.

My observation is that a controlled study is the benchmark of medical
'truth'.  It seems to be that of yours too, Martin.

Nobody said that here, and you know it.

Nobody has said it in those words...

Nobody said it in any words, nor did anyone imply it. You are lying.

I think you implied it.

I didn't say it, and I didn't imply it. You have an axe to grind against
doctors, so you hear what you want to hear to support your negative view
of doctors.

Dear Arjan,
You are correct. We have a built in mechanism where sound that awakens us at
night is a danger and we react to it as a danger. By your course, you
"reclassified" the tinnitus as a not danger.
However Meniere's is a medically treatable illness and you should not
neglect that avenue of treatment.
