Hi all,
About 5 months ago I developed Tinnitus after going on a holiday to
Ibiza. Basically I spent 4 nights going to very load clubs, and when I
left at the end of each night my ears we always ringing. For most of
the holiday the ringing has gone after a good nights sleep. After the
last night it didn't!
Classic noise-induced tinnitus I guess
The main reason I'm putting a message in this group is to try and get
some info. I'm still waiting for an appointment with an ENT (my first
one was cancelled) but I have a feeling I know what they're going to
say, "You have tinnitus from loud music, deal with it"
I have tried to make some changes to my life like turning the volume
down on the TV, stereo, MP3 player and I don't go to clubs or
gigs/concerts any more, and when I go to bars I usually wear R20 ear
plus (although I don't always)
I've noticed that the ringing does get slightly worse when I'm in a
noisy environment, and not necessarily load, such as in the car and the
stereo isn't on, but then gets quieter again and returns to "normal"
levels
>From spending months and months looking on the internet for info I can
basically gauge that there is no cure and I have all the usual
problems. The things I worry about constantly are:
1. Is it going to get worse?
2. Am I going to go deaf?
3. When do I need to wear ear plus. Just in bars or also when driving
the car?
Any info/help/guidance which anyone can give me would be much
appreciated
Thank you
Keza

Try to have good night sleep again but this time use low pillow or a
wrapped towel to support your neck. The idea is to lie FLAT in order
to enable better blood circulation. Better circulation in the head
enables whatever is damaged to recover more quickly. Try gingko biloba
for two weeks and see if it clicks. Gingko helps the blood circulation
in your head.

1) Is your "t" going to get worse? Most likely not unless your
tinnitus was noise induced and you continue to expose your
hearing to loud sounds.
2) Deaf? Not likely unless you have an underlying condition.
3) Ear plugs? Recommended when you know you'll be exposed
to loud noises/sounds.
The more you worry the more the tinnitus affects you. Good luck.
