I had a hearing test done today, and there is a 20 db difference
between 1k and 3k, a 40 db loss at 4k going back up to 30 and 20 db at
6k and 8k respectively.

the doctor prescribed a supplement with lipoic acid 400mg.

is the above loss the probable cause?

I have a chronic sinus condition, which I felt might have influenced.

anything related to allergies can decrease your hearing due to
congestion or even infection of the ear but i´m not shure if it´s
related the lipoic acid with ototoxics.

I meant the hearing loss.
I'm beginning to think it really is-

Allergies might temporarily reduce hearing by congestion but NOT
permanently. With certain exceptions - if you sneeze so hard you injuse your
inner ear or you have some autoimmune condition, but astham, hay fever,
exzema do not damage hearing.

Any hearing loss (which is not the same as hearing damage) can improve
when the tinnitus improves. How is the tinnitus?

the tinnitus is a mix of 5K, 7K and 11Khz.

My hearing damage is moderate, with a dip centering around 4 KHz.

the lowest part of the graph is 50 dB at 4K for the right ear.

3 K is 30 dB, 6k is around 40 dB, 7k is back up to 35 dB etc.

there is a loss.. but the tinnitus does mask low-level sounds, so I
dunno.

Headphones are the most likely cause.

the funny thing is that the heavy attack occured a 6 to 8 weeks after I
probably caused the damage.

the doctor said there are no rules as to when the T will kick in.
