Hi,

I just wonder if anyone here has any experience with "tinnitus re-training
threrapy"? Is the general opinion that this works or not? In that case are
there certain "types" of tinnitus that it works better for than others?

Hi, as far as i know if your tinnitus case is somatic, it might work,
but if ir related to depression it won´t.

an specialist should give you the diagnosis of your tinnitus type and
the posibilities of recovery with  TRT.

Thanks for your response. Is there any chance that the tinnitus may get
worse with TRT, or why not simply try it and see if it works?

Also, what other factors affect the chances of success with TRT? For
example, is it more likely that TRT will work if it's applied soon after the
onset of the tinnitus? And is it more likely to work if the tinnitus is less
severe?

I think all deppends on the time to reverse the process of the
tinnitus, the more time you have dealing with tinnitus, maybe the more
it will take to solve, i don´t think that this therapy could get worse
your tinnitus, in someway it might disturb you but it will be just
temporary, not all can be candidate for be treated with TRT but it´s
worth a try don´t you think?. ;)

i downloaded the tinnitus tammer at http://www.vavsoft.com/ and believe
me i almost cried when i heard some of the tones that are generated
because they sound almost like my tinnitus and thanks god it´s not one
of the worse as I  can note on some other hiss sounds simulated by the
program.
