you´ll find ways to let it go without affecting your life after
dealing with your tinnitus a couple of months sometimes it will get you
nuts and sometimes you´ll can control it, I couldn´t even hear music
with earphones because I was having that sensation like is something
were filling my ears but I think i´m starting to understand it,
Everybody have tinnitus but not at enough loud levels to cause
disturbance and that´s what we need to find, why are we getting so
much attention on the ringing sounds?...that´s the part that we need
to focus on maybe to find the solution or is really there a problem
that medics are ignoring from us?.

I think it is a brain problem rather than an ear problem.
If you have seen a doctor who found nothing wrong then have a look
here for some more information.

Thank you Elly. I actually couldn't make the doctors appointment today
but, will be in there first thing tomorrow.
Interesting... I actually do suffer from mild to moderate neck pains.
I am very tense and stiff on the left side (same side the tinnitus
occurs). I was in a car accident last May and did do a number on my
neck... I wonder if this is a possible source? It would just seem odd
that it would occur now after so many months and only after a had an
ear infection.
There are several other things noted on your website which I can relate
to such as stress, computrer habits and bad seating! It looks like
there are some things I will need to consider and work on.
Best regards,
Paul.

there are some histories of insurance companies that had problems with
costumers claiming their insurances by problems developed on the neck
or other parts of the body after months before having a car accident, i
remember having a similar problem to the one you are talking and all
this time what i learned about tinnitus I think is a result of a lot of
bad habits "acumulated" and lost of care of our own body :( induced
indirectly by the modern living habits some of them.

I agree completely!

Thanks for that. I certainly fit the description.

Your current situation sounds like mine, but I only seem to have the
problem consistently in my apartment, where it is very quiet. There is
some underlying ventilation machinery noise, but it is very faint.
I noticed that when I flew for Christmas, the problem went away for a
few days, but then it came back. So decreased atmospheric pressure had
a positive effect. I also notice that after I swim, the problem goes
away for the rest of the day, but then it comes back.
It seems to get worse when I lie down. If I clear my ears (as in scuba
diving), there is momentary relief. My ears feel sensitive to noise. I
have been to an ear, nose, and throat doctor, and I did a hearing test
there. He said there is nothing wrong with my ears, and he said my
hearing is normal and I don't have the hearing test pattern he sees in
people who have tinnitus. He could not find anything wrong with my
ears.
There always seems to be a very faint pain in my ears, like I am
hearing a high frequency dog whistle or something,a nd my ears are
trying to protect themselves from damage. My mind tries to construct
explanation based on CIA monitoring and cell phone transmission
signals.
I suspect the real problem is in the brain. I suspect it is a
neurotransmitter issue. I have had depression before, so I know what
neurotransmitter imbalances can do.

The problem is not in the brain.
It is in the pain in the neck.

If it is caused by a pain in the neck, how do we explain the fact that
the problem only occurs in certain rooms of certain buildings?
The brain must be involved.

Thanks for sharing Martin.
I haven't exactly found a pattern for my tinnitus. For a whilte it
seemed to start shortly after I started work, it would then stop at
some point during the day and then shortly after I got home it would
start again and would last until I went to bed.
I did get in to see my doctor last Friday. He says that the ear looks
fine however, as highlighted on Elly's site there are several factors
that can contribute to Tinnitus. His main suggestion for me was to try
taking Clariton Plus. I also have rhinitis which I have been taking
Reactin and Nasonex. His suggestion is to replace Reactin with
Clariton Plus which is Allergy + Sinus. He feels that this should help
the fluid in my ear drain better.
I have also made several changes:
> purchased a Kneeling Chair for working on the computer
> stopped sitting on the couch with a laptop in my lap
> making a conscious effort to stretch several times a day
> purchased a much more comfortable bed to replace my futon
Now it has only been since Friday that I have made a real effort to
change some behaviors and test the Clariton so, I can't really say if
anything has improved... However, I have only experienced a few
minutes of the tinnitus at different times today. Saturday and Sunday
were a slight improvement but, today has been the best day in the last
3 weeks...
Obviously, there is no one single solution to this but, Elly's site is
definitely a great resource and opens your eyes to various things that
can contribute. I think in general whether you're suffering from
tinnitus or not there are excellent tips to consider and follow on her
site.
Best regards,
Paul.
