Hi group:
As I post this message, it's about 10:30 pm here in southern Oregon.
I'm a bit tired; I'm watching a TV show; and I'm writing this message
on my laptop. And, then there the strong ear ringing that I hear at
this very moment. Isn't life wonderful!
I found a very interesting government website at the URL:
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov
This website tracks the clinical trials of new medicines and medical
procedures that are being run by medical companies, etc.
There's a search engine on the website that lists diseases from A to Z.
I suffer from asthma, as do millions of other Americans so I decided to
see how many clinical trials are being run for that disease. The
result is 174 recruiting studies currently being run. I'm familiar
with some of these studies as I'm a second time volunteer for a new
injection medicine for asthma. I've been on this program now for
almost a year and it will continue for another half year.
I also suffer from tinnitus, as do...... I would have expected many
clinical trials being run to attempt to find a solution to this vicious
disease. The result was 1 (one) recruiting study which is described
as:
"The Effect of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy on Subjective and Objective
Measures of Chronic Tinnitus"
You can read about this study at the URL:
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00124800?order=1
What are my thoughts on this matter?
I'm very disturbed to see the that medical community is no coming to
bat to find a solution to the tinnitus problem. I predict, as a result
of the iPod revolution we are currently experience where many young
people listen to loud music continually with ear plugs, that the number
of people who will contract tinnitus will grow exponentially is a very
short time.
Yet, as we can see from the clinical trials website, not much is being
done by the medical community.
Maybe we need a Jerry Lewis on our side? :-)

This is truly a very vicious diseas. Fortunately, I have overcome it,
and I believe you can overcome it too. Just try everything until you
find something that works. Go and visit Murray's shop and have him
bring you through a series of tests/treatments. This may sound rather
boring to you but i think that is the only way. So there is solution
to your tinnitus but you have to find it.
