Great group here! Long time tinnitus dude short time lurker. I have
hearing damage and tinnitus for about 30 years now. People ask me what
tinnitus sounds like.

I find my tinnitus almost comforting. The sound of my tinnitus is like
that of the southwestern cicada. Cicadas have chunky bodies and bulging
eyes. In the Arizona desert they fill the air with a cacophony of sound
buzzing their vibrating ribbed plates from May through August. The male
cicada may be the loudest insect known, the mating sound can be heard as
far as 440 yards.

So when I close my eyes I can't help imagining a blistering hot summer
day with the buzz of the cicada all around me.

Sounds nice. I'll swap yours for my one if you like (gas escaping at
the moment, but normally white noise). :-)
