I may catch some flak for this post, but perhaps it will help somebody.

In my opinion, after you've learned the basics about tinnitus, the best
way
to deal with it is to stop thinking about it.  The only way to stop
thinking about it is to remove it as a focus for your time and energy.

Stop reading groups and message boards.
Stop searching the internet for a "cure".
Stop reading articles about experimental treatments.
Stop telling people about what it's like to have it.
Stop trying to decide if it's worse today than yesterday.

It won't happen overnight, but one day you'll wake up and realize:
"Wow, my
tinnitus hasn't really been bugging me as much as it used to."

This is just something that has worked for me and helped me cope over
the last fifteen or so years.

If you respond to this message, I may not see it.  I only check these
groups now and then to offer my method as something to try for those
who haven't.
