After 20 years with my friends tinnitus (many kind of noises) a Dr.
suggested I had Costen Syndrome, after a magnetic resonance analysys,
studies and radiographies I was sent to be treated by a Dentist
specialized in oral reconstruction (sorry for my english), he installed
a "orthopedic device" in my palate in order to reposicion my
temporomandibular junction.
And guess what, I am improving, all syntoms have diminished, noises
have reduced and hearing is much better I have really improved and I
want to share this in the group as some of you may have the same cause
that in this case can be cured, just check. TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT
DISORDERS and/or  Costen's syndrome.

Look for the themes in internet and if you think you may have this
check TWO profesional experts, otorrinolaryngologist, and a specialized
dentist.

Hope some of you get some help of this desperating noise.

It is really interesting that you bring this up.

I was advised to wear a bitesplint about a year ago.  At that time, I
did not notice the difference, partly because I was applying so many
kinds of treatments on myself at that time.  So I took it off and left
it alone for quite a while.

Lately, I wear it again, and notice that there is a relationship
between wearing it and the t noise being cut down.  I do have a bite
problem.
