Hi all;
I posted in here a few weeks ago, asking for help for my dad. He
has/had tinnitus and doctors of course couldnt give him any good
advice, but you guys did.

I called him last week and he said it was gone. I asked him what
happened, and he told me this story about him getting some PET scan,
blah blah blah....

anyway, i told him to email me the story and i would post it for you
guys. Maybe it will help someone... maybe it has happened to some of
you...

"Son; Just wanted to drop you a line with a little good news.

Last Friday I went to Chattanooga Imaging to check for coronary disease
on a new type of CT scanner. It is a procedure called "coronary
computer tomography angiography".

This particular type of scanner is able to make a complete revolution
in .5 seconds and is able to sample the heart in the "quiet" part of
it's rhythm. (My dad has some heart issues)

In order to make this procedure work, I was given 40mgs of "Lopressor"
(in pill form) which slows down the heart rate to about 53 to 58 beats
per minute; this allows 600 slices of the heart, some cross-sectioned
and colorized, and provides complete analysis of the situation.

It was 11 a.m. when I finished. At 6:30 that same evening, my tennitus
had dissapeared and stayed that way till Sunday afternoon when it
slowly started coming back.

I don't know if it was the radiation by the machine, the "Lopressor",
or a combination of the two. I do know I got some really good sleep
Friday and Saturday night."

I talked to him sunday afternoon, before it had cam back. According to
this email, it has apparently come back... any thoughts?

If I were you I would tell him not to worry about it. The worst mistake
I made was to believe that I would suffer from tinnitus all my life,
and I believe that prevented tinnitus from really going away for good.

Ask him not to be in silent places. Ask him to turn on the TV when he
cook, etc. If he uses MP3 player, ask him to play white noise in the
background through speaker. If you need, you can download a whitenoise
MP3 file from my site. Listed here yesterday.

Or he can turn on his TV and tune into a channel that generate
whitenoise sound.

Cheers,

VB

a total gem VB!!!  and even if one does have T for a while
longer than they'd care for, you wouldn't always suffer from it.
