I am no doctor and have not gone through any medical training.  But 2
years ago my blood pressure was getting out of control for whatever
reasons.  I had been on medication prior to that incident.

After several failing attempts by the 'certified' HK doctors to rescue
me, I experimented with various kinds of med myself.

The combinations I have found effective are as follows:
(1)diurectics with ACE Inhibitor
(2)calcium channel blocker with beta blocker

These HK doctors graduated from 'prestigeous' medical schools and some
of them were working for HK Adventist Hospital.  They charged dearly.
Later on, I met a 'village' doctor in China.  She told me that her
EXPERIENCE is that when a high blood pressure sufferer gets older, the
single med approach may no longer work for him/her, and that a combined
med approach has to be resorted to.

Sometimes I wonder if these HK doctors, or for that matter their random
counterparts in the west, were told about this by their professors at
medical schools, or that like their western counterparts these doctors
are more interested in their BMWs and sinfully large house mortgages
than continuing education.
