I sent out a request to my mailing list asking if they had SHL when
the tinnitus started, and whether their hearing improved as the
tinnitus improved.

This is the first reply.

Gladly, Elly!

I' m not sure if I had SHL exactly, or totally, but my hearing in my
left ear was quite impaired.

> 2. If your tinnitus has improved, has your SHL also improved?

Yes, it gradually improved as the tinnitus gradually disappeared.
It really scared me when it happened, and I hope never again! I'm OK

Hope this helps...

"We did not focus on our patients’ hearing loss, partly
because it appeared to be a minor problem for them compared
with vertigo and tinnitus, and partly because it is a
problem outside our disciplines. In spite of this, some of
the patients claimed a lasting subjective hearing improvement
during the treatment."
