Hello,

Does anybody know anything about these pills?

http://www.alphatinnitusformulas.com/

They have "money back guarantee" and all that - why would they do that if it
doesn´t work anyway?

I´m in Europe - so it´s a bit expensive for me to buy it without knowing if
it works at all....

BTW :

Are these pills just "normal" Gingko Biloba or...?
Ben - 17 Sep 2005 12:50 GMT
It looks as though they are a mixture:

For the first time ever the natural healing and clinically proven power of
Vitamin A, Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Amino Acid Chelated Zinc, Magnesium, the
powerful antioxidants Vitamin C and Vitamin E, plus Vitamin B12 have been
combined to bring you one high potency tinnitus relief formula to
dramatically relieve the effects of tinnitus within 60 to 90 days

You could buy all of these in Europe anyway?

Ben

Thanks - Yes, but how do I know the "right" combination or dose?
- Are any of the above vitamins or extracts dangerous or unhealthy?

Well, too much of anything isn't good for most of us, so I would try low
doses first if I were you. You can always build up?
I hope it works for you Andy.

The better question is how would the manufacturer know?

Don't waste your money on this product or any other similar
product being hawked for tinnitus. I'm very wary about ginko biloba
(has some very nasty potential side effects) and the other ingredients
are simply vitamins along with zinc (all very inexpensive in any good
multi-vitamin supplement). As far as what dosing and concentrations
of the vitamins goes, this formulation is simply a "guess" anyway.

There are NO effective tinnitus formulas out there- just high priced
"formulas" preying on those individuals desparate for a cure.

So again, just take a pass and save your money and disappointment and
don't take the bait.

Don't bother even trying because there is absolutely no hope for any of us.

This attitude, demonstrated by many of our so-called "professionals" is the
most narrow minded, disgusting thing to hold back mankind yet.

To repeat what the so-called medical "professionals" say in defence of their
ignorance "Can you cite and proof or any semblance of double-blinded, peer
reviewed test date to back up your ridiculous asinine claims?"

I doubt you will and now we shall only see an evasive technique, or more
name calling, if any response at all from you.

Have a nice day

If you want to try it without the idea of having your money back, then
go ahead.  But don't do it with the idea you will have your money back.

Take take a gingko biloba tablet daily.  Buy the pills from a good
health food store nearby and save all that micky mousy running around.
If you don't feel anything after a couple of weeks, then drop it.  But
if you do feel the change, you then decide whether or not you want to
increase or decrease the dosage.

Is this how you fixed your dosage?  By listening to the tinnitus sound and
increasing or decreasing your dosage?  Do you increase it by small amounts
until the sound just goes away?  Do you decrease the amount if your nose
starts to bleed?
fyfpoon@gmail.com - 19 Sep 2005 05:36 GMT
I have not had any bleeding problem and I don't think most people would
with only ONE tablet OTC gingko.  My doctor advised me to take TWO, one
in the morning and one before dinner as dietary supplement.  I am
taking just one and have been doing it for over a year now.  Gingko has
other properties but I will leave it to you to find that out.  The
concern with the bleeding aspect of gingko is as much as that with
aspirin.  You decide how much gingko you take in exactly the same way
you take aspirin.  If one is too much for you or you experience a
bleeding nose, cut it down into half.  I have never run into anyone who
has ended up with a bleeding nose or a stroke with only ONE gingko.

Your tinnitus sound does not ncessarily go away but in my case the use
of gingko transformed my brain ring into ringing on the ear drum, and
it softened the sound as well.  That, according to the doctor,
represents an improvement on my nerve.

If they would really work, what do you think the likelyhood would be
that this newsgroup, alt.support.tinnitus, would exist?
If they would really work then you would find them in the tinnitus
section/shelf of all pharmacies and/or drugstores together with the
vast number of products already available that are also clearly
labeled "this product is certified and guaranteed to make tinnitus go
away."
If you're thinking they're natural products so they gotta be good, be
sure to add these fine natural products to your must-have shopping
list: hemlock, lead, curare, arsenic, asbestos, opium, mercury and of
course, skunk squirt. At the proper dosage, all of these are
guaranteed to make your tinnitus go away although the latter one, for
freshness reasons, should first be tested in the store where you buy
it.

You forgot Snake Venom and snake oil.
In the early days, snake oil was the universal cure for arthritis, sore
throat, etc.

He wouldn't know. The only point was to be ridiculous because he was taught
not to agree with the idea.
