The purpose of habituation is to take our minds away from tinnitus.
Thus anything that could do so fits into that category.  It is OK, for
that reason, that non-tinnitus issues be introduced once in a while
into AST provided they are intellectually stimulating and can help
patients alleviate their suffering from tinnitus or habituate!

I agree, Francis.  This is especially true when the discussions are brief
and light hearted.  I especially enjoyed the posts about EERIE WAX that
appear here from time-to-time.

Not exactly, habituation is convincing your body that its an OK, not a bad,
like accepting a tight girdle or bra. Its also like when you live near the
train yard and after a while you are no longer aware of the trains.

Murray. When my girdle is too tight, it's true, I'm not aware of my
tinnitus.

You too, huh?  Spent most of my life obsessed by em, finally grew my own.

Great replies guys!  I always remove mine when it feels too tight, and that
is what I am doing with my T when it's too noisy, so I suppose Murray has a
point! Sort of.

Thanks to Ben's earlier suggestion, I now use my girdle's suspenders to hang
'suspended' from the ceiling  ;)

Good for you Steve,  and I hope it's working?!!  If not, then do try hanging
upside down. That
will improve the blood flow though :(
