My ear is POUNDING!! Not Ringing

After contracting a virus on Holiday I started to suffer from a
pounding noise in my right ear along with mild anxiety. It is clearly
the sound of my heart beating, being heard internally and was
exasperated at the time by my anxiety ( I couldn't sleep for nearly 1
week and it drove me crazy ). I have recovered from the virus and the
anxiety but the pounding has remained.
My GP treated me for Middle ear infection with Anti-Biotics but it did
not help. Eventually I have seen the specialist at ENT who
told me that any infection has gone and I have Tinnitus which they can
do nothing about!.
My undersatnding is that Tinnitus is ringing or similar noises in the
ears  and would like to know if anyone else out there suffers from the
same pounding of the heart symptoms as myself and also what I could
potentially do about it.

Any futher information would be of great help.

I know what you are going through, i had it for a year, went to the
doctor he told me it was allergie's,  i have tryed everything i could
think of all of the things other people told me to try, then finally
talked to a man who was into herbs, he told me to irigate my sinus,
thought he was nuts , who ever wanted to do that, well i finally
worked up the curage to try it and it worked after 3 or 4 day's the
preasure eased up and the noise went away, but i think one thing that
we all are over looking is candida, sounds bizare, but 80% of all
americans have it and don't know it, because with the sinus problems i
am also tired, achey, light headed, anxiety, there are so many
symptoms the list goes on and on,  the problem is when all of us go to
the doctor he treats us for what we are complaining about,  i have a
lot of my customer's who come into the office who complain of sinus
ears hurting and plugged up, they have all been to the doctor and they
get the same results. allergy's,  i am tired of the medical profession
they are getting rich on us, and never help us, but they sure get our
money.
If you do a search on candida it will scare you, they are just now
starting to realize the problem's.
Don't know if this helps but you might try it, it helped me, and i was
going nut's.
GOD BLESS..

What a remarkable coincidence.  Same source path as "Rev. A.C. Byrne".

So friggin' what. You just trying to troll the group or just generally
making trouble for somebody?

Just pointing out that the troll had changed his clothes, Larry.  You have
me confused with someone else my friend.

I do not know you or care if I do. Stop trying to make trouble here.

Who cares if the wolf changes his clothes? Are you severe OCD?

Thanx

If it persists, you may want to get an opinion from a vascular surgeon.

If no cause can be found after various tests have been performed,
then it is most likely due to MUSCLE TENSION.
Please see a massage therapist - trusted chiropractor,
physiotherapist, aroma therapist etc.
See if there is tension in your body. Ask questions of the therapist.
Where is the tension?
What can I do about it etc?

Then ask your self: What am I doing during the day that could be
causing this?
Do you clamp a phone in your neck? - get a headset.
Are you sitting badly? - improve your posture.
Is your computer positioned correctly?

Is the monitor at eye level - no peering up or down.
Is the keyboard roughly at your waist level?
Is your chair comfortable? no slouching.

Do you drive a lot? see travel tips
Try some of the neck exercises at:

3. A relaxation exercise by an internet ENT, Dr Murray Grossan:
http://www.tinnitusrelief.net/

I had a brief episode some years ago. I had become aware of muscular
tension by this time, so I got rid of it as soon as I could.
I had been a passenger in a a car on a long trip. After driving for 2
whole days I began to feel as if an iron band had grown around my
chest. When I bent down to pick something up off the floor the PT
kicked in.
My seating position had not been what it normally is when I am the
driver. I usually have a cushion in my back and sit up straight.
Because I was a passenger I thought this was not so important. But I
was wrong.
I put the cushion back and sat upright for the next week. The PT went.

On 8/21/05 12:44 PM, in article gbmhg15pvv1ea3acajseqdu7ksn80q7h2r@4ax.com,

Truth:
6 months nagging headache. Cured -$4.00 car seat from Sears

Constant headaches. Cured. Raised stool at sink.

Headaches with new bifocals. Reassured this is temporary. Went away.

It isn't that RELAXATION cures the condition. It is that muscle relaxation
makes it impossible to have anxiety reinforcement. You can have a mosquito
bite, but is anxiety reinforcement comes into play, you can scratch and it
gets worse and you get more nervous, etc. But if the muscles are relaxed you
can't have anxiety. This is why biofeedback works for tinnitus. You reduce
the reinforcement.

You may be suffering from this: http://my.webmd.com/content/pages/12/50275

It's a rather long read, butit may be worth your while. Essentially, a vein
grew too close to her eardrum and she quite litterally was hearing her
heartbeat inside her head. A simple procedure corrected the problem.

Thank-you Tage that is the closest I've seen to my symptoms
although Jugular Vein Ligation surgery sounds quite full on !!
