Medical Treatment A Must!

For many new tinnitus suffers like Christian in this group, medical
treatment is a must!  It is only after his maddening ill has been
reduced to a more acceptable level, then we could afford him the luxury
of habituation.

I went through the same experience as Christian's at present.  It was
an ill that badly needed medical help.  Since doctors had no clue, they
randomly tried on me all sorts of things.  Something, however, did
click or help.

The first and the foremost is to stop the ill that could lead one to
contemplate ending one's life or that life is meaningless to him or not
worth keeping.  Once that is done, the next step is to find out what
causes it and see if anything can be done about it.  This may take a
long time.  Thus in the process of finding out or trying to find out
the cause, one is taught to live with it to make less of its impact.

When I first got tinnitus, the popular websites of the high tech
doctors all over the world were talking about damage to our cell hairs
in the inner ears being the cause.  Even my expensive ENT doctors in HK
were re-inforcing this silly notion in me.  They never mentioned
anything about nerve, because that is not how they were brought up in
the medical schools.  I don't think that Chinese doctor in that website
I printed out here is wrong about the 8th nerve pair being the culprit
of tinnitus when impaired.  Following his reasoning, the next step is
figuring out how to repair the nerve.

Habituation buys time and for some people time is all is needed for the
nerve repair.  However, for many of us, time itself is not enough.
Thus the idea that alt is the place exclusively devoted to our
supporting each other for habituation is a very silly one! Aside from
supporting each other in going through this horrific ill named
tinnitus, we should be looking into ways by which we could have this
ill healed.

Since doctors are too busy with their BMWs and supporting the sinfully
large mortgages of their houses, we will do it one way or another.

He posts this same cry every year or so for the last five here. Obviously
none of the advice he has been given has worked or listenned to.

Some suffer from both vertigo and tinnitus while others only tinnitus.
Never mind whether or not you are the only one or not.  You need not do
what others do.
