I've had slight tinnitus for many years (due to my previous work in
recording studios I suppose) but suddenly it got very loud a few months ago.
The only thing that really seemed to quiet it down for more than a day or so
was eating only soft foods for a few days. But I'd gotten absolutely sick of
soup and cream of wheat so I've begun to experiment with various doses of
vitamins etc. that I'd been reading about. Niacin seemed to help some, but
didn't produce a reliable, repeatable result. But now I've found something
that seems to work amazingly well for me, altho I don't know if it will work
for anyone else. It's simple- I take 1500 mg of MSM and 4 mg of
chlorphenimarine (yellow OTC antihistamine)with breakfast, 1500 mg of MSM at
lunch, and 1500 mg of MSM and another 4 mg chlorphenimarine at bedtime. Plus
I'm continuing to take a stress-tab vitamin and 100 mg niacin in the morning
altho I'm not totally sure it helps.

This combo has been miraculous- the tinnitus is back to where it used to be
and sometimes even disappears completely. The antihistamine made me feel a
little dopey the first couple days but I've now gotten used to it. And I can
eat the occasional steak again. The only food that now seems to trigger
tinnitus in me is chocolate.

Anyway, hope it continues, and maybe a combo of MSM and antihistamine might
help someone else. Sure has helped me.

Methyl Sulfonyl Methane, it's commonly sold mixed with glucosamine for joint
problems but is also available in 500 mg tabs seperately.
