I have had tinnitus for several years and have grown to except it. However
lately I have had the worsening experience of hearing my heartbeat and it is
driving me nuts. I also have wenkebach and hear its distinctive rhythm also.
What can I do?

The first port of call is the doctor to make sure there is not
something else going on.
If the doctor cannot find anything then it is due to muscle tension in
the neck and shoulders.

Good advice to make sure that there are no serious vascular disorders, but a
high proportion of cases of pulsatile tinnitus are idiopathic i.e. no one
has any idea what causes it, only what's not causing it. To ascribe these
idiopathic cases to muscle tension seems to me naive and sweeping.

It's also important to have someone check you out neurologically to make
sure it isn't intracranial hypertension (too much fluid in the brain...
symptoms include the tinnitus you describe, headaches, vision changes...
and there are tests the docs can do to look for it).

Quite right. IHT is generally more prevalent in morbidly obese females.
Also check out the paper by Sismanis et al (Laryngoscope 104: June 1994,
Page 681). As far as I can recall Sismanis did not find muscle tension to
be one of the causes of pulsatile tinnitus. Maybe he missed out on
something :>) ?

Well if you've been diagnosed as having Wenckebach's phenomenon, I'll
assume that you're already under the care of a cardiologist. What has
he had to say about this?

Have an overall body relaxation exercise, which will invariably involve
a chiro. Sometimes our bones somewhere could produce sound that goes
into our ears.
