Captain Ron - 04 Jul 2005 15:21 GMT Captain Ron Yoli, born and raised in Huntington N.Y. and a former captain in Montauk's charter boat fleet, died July 1 suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack just before a second honeymoon with his wife, Barbara (Bobbie). Captain Ron was an avid fisherman, both freshwater and saltwater, and had moved to Florida four years ago so that he could fish full time. He was an active member of the Port Canaveral Captain's Association.
Known for his love of fishing, Captain Ron was an expert tackle designer, and his fishing lures were still widely used by the Montauk fleet and had been featured in several national magazines. Until stricken by a severe hearing loss and debilitating tinnitus, Ron was co-owner of an advertising and plastic card company. He was an avid supporter and counselor to the many people who were afflicted by the disease of tinnitus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Barbara; his brothers Kenneth, Joseph, Gerald, and Leonard; his nieces, Jen, Laurie and Theresa; his nephews Andrew, Brian, Kevin, and Matthew; his sisters-in-law Barbara, Caroline, Mary Lucia and Susan; his brothers-in law James and Jim; and his cherished little nephews, David and Patrick.
In Florida, visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island, Florida. A funeral mass is scheduled at Divine Mercy Church, Merritt Island on the morning of July 7 at 11:00 a.m. with a burial service to follow. For our many friends on Long Island, a memorial service will be planned in Montauk, New York. As soon as the date for the service in Montauk is finalized, we let all of you know.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in the name of Captain Ron Yoli to the American Tinnitus Society.

> I've got $100 donation to the ATA in Ron's name. > Anyone with me? I smell fish: strange messages here from his wife, his Sister-in-law (sic) and even the man himself apparently! Nothing on his website, nothing in the local rag.
Remember the stalking, remember the threats and the hurt he caused both here and in real life; remember the disruption and horrible things he said here.

The reports of Ron's death, the obituary notice, etc. are all accurate.

J P - 06 Jul 2005 00:10 GMT I read it this morning in the local paper (The Florida Today.) A very nice tribute to him.

alga - 06 Jul 2005 23:50 GMT > The reports of Ron's death, the obituary notice, etc. are all > accurate. Yes, I see the obit in Florida Today. Strange messages, though, that preceeded it here. Why would his sister-in-law send a message here? Why did she, his sister and some unknown person using the same ISP post as "Captain Ron"? Why do the members of his family refer to him as "Captain Ron"?
De mortuis nil nisi bonum and all that, but there was much about Yoli and his posts that was distinctly rum, and those messages continued it.
So he died of a massive heart attack. It doesn't surprise me as he was mostly apoplectic here, and I suspect in the rest of his life.
Cheers hic

Janice - 11 Dec 2006 00:31 GMT Really? Did you go to college to learn that?
It wasn't Ron who had the mental illness.
> He's dead. > >> As a follow up, I am sure uses another name here now. The mental >> illness became very apparent toward the end. Stychentyme - 15 Dec 2006 04:52 GMT No. I was told shortly after it happened.
Thanks for the rudeness. Ron was my friend.
> Really? Did you go to college to learn that? Janice - 15 Dec 2006 04:59 GMT Ron was my friend also. Does his friendship somehow nullify your ability to read?
Did you think your posted information was helpful? The rudeness was when you burst into a thread making statements that indicate your complete ignorance of the thread topic.
Could you not even read the title of the thread before interferring?
Now take your ignorant, judgemental, comments and keep them to yourself.

The rudeness was when > you burst into a thread making statements that indicate your complete > ignorance of the thread topic. Umm,.... Janice, I never "burst" into your precious thread, and I certainly never posted anything that warranted your attack, .... and yet you continue to persist.
> Could you not even read the title of the thread before interferring? > > Now take your ignorant, judgemental, comments and keep them to yourself. I never made any judgemental comments. I merely said "he's dead", which is the truth, and you jumped down my throat. I made you aware of your rudeness, and you brought out your claws. It would seem that YOU are the one being ignorant and judgemental here, but I have no idea why.
There have been many threads on AST and other boards about Ron since he died, and it just bugs me. Let him rest in peace.
This is the reason I rerely post here anymore. Too many bitter, spiteful people like yourself.
If Ron was truly your friend, you wouldn't have attacked me like you did.
Oh well.
>> No. I was told shortly after it happened. >> >> Thanks for the rudeness. Ron was my friend. >> >>> Really? Did you go to college to learn that? Janice - 15 Dec 2006 23:07 GMT That is quite a twist. How about we clarify something.
You are a troll.

Janice - 17 Dec 2006 23:06 GMT No. I didn't have to. I have seen trolling techniques before. Yours started with a statement, made to irritate legitimate posters. Something like "He is dead", when the whole discussion was about his death, as a factor, in the main topic argument of the thread. You were either, just being nasty (trolling) to post that or just ignorant of what is going on in the thread topic we are discussing.
Now, on top of that you try the "you nasty person" act by implying I am making a mockery of Ron's death, as a tool to defend your posting stupidity. You were caught with your pants down here and the attempt to turn it around also makes you appear as a troll, fishing for a bite.
I hope that is clear enough for you.
> Really? Did you go to college to learn that? > [quoted text clipped - 40 lines] >>>>> >>>>>> Really? Did you go to college to learn that? Stychentyme - 18 Dec 2006 02:23 GMT I am not a troll. I have been posting on this, and other boards for years. I knew Ron. He was my friend. As I stated to you. You can believe this or not,... I don't care.
He helped me at a time when I had no idea what was happening with me. His death was a shock to me, as it was with the others that were close to him.
I explained that I'm tired of hearing all the crap posted by people about Ron since his death. My statement was a simple one of fact for all the "doubters" out there. This is only one thread of many others I've seen. As I said, it bugs me. You may be a doubter or not,.... I'm not clear on that. If there was anyone I meant to "irritate," it was those out there who doubt his death, or wish to insult him when he's not here to defend himself.
Here is another thread I posted in earlier this year on the same topic;
http://www.pahealthsystems.com/printthread.php?threadid=636580
You attacked me. I never posted anyting to insult you. You took what I said and made it into something it was not. You jumped to conclusions with no idea what you were talking about.
Again, believe me or not,... I don't really care anymore. I've said my piece now.
Rest in peace, Ron.
> No. I didn't have to. I have seen trolling techniques before. Yours > started with a statement, made to irritate legitimate posters. Something [quoted text clipped - 53 lines] >>>>>> >>>>>>> Really? Did you go to college to learn that? Janice - 19 Dec 2006 00:19 GMT OK, fair enough. I did jump on you, for what I thought was a stupid statement, in that particular place, for which I apologize.
If I read you correctly, there are people that do not believe Ron is dead and I can understand you frustration. I found it hard to believe...no I did not want to believe it. Maybe it isn't true but then it would be clear he wanted out of this rat race and the trail he left. He at least was being stalked by a couple of crazies from this group and would have had good reason to fake his death to avoid that. Either way he deserves to be out. I still have his personal emails and they haunt me sometimes when I encounter them again.
The post I originally replied to, to prove a point to somebody else, was in reply to Nagler's (the insanity case) confirmation of Ron's demise. Ths should be enough here to convine all the negative people that worshiped ever word Nagler despite his trolling and abusive, condescending nature here. Why would these same people doubt his confirmation?
Any, Have a lovely Christmas, no matter what your religion.

Did you go to college to learn that? Stychentyme - 20 Dec 2006 01:35 GMT That's okay, I probably looked before I leaped,... post-wise.
I've just seen some really dumb comments about Ron in various boards since his death, and I guess I'm quick to quash any dumb rumors or insensitive comments in regards to him. I should have made my post more descriptive and less blunt.
There are a lot of people out there with a grudge against Ron, I guess,.... or people just trying to stir the pot.
You have a good Christmas as well.

zuMan - 05 Jul 2005 22:42 GMT Hey there Froggy : )
Well, it's all over the tinnitus discussion groups that he is gone. Regardless of all that has happened the ata is a very worthwhile cause to have benefit from this. Email me some day will ya?

> Regardless of all that has happened the ata is a very worthwhile cause > to have benefit from this. Certainly a worthwhile cause, but poor Yoli was vexatious to the ATA, and it seems inappropriate to me to give to it in his name. YMMV.
