I came across this warning (see below) from a site listing
resources for tinnitus. I must admit that the author nailed
this ng to a tee. So for those responsible, please take a bow.
But I must also hope that the majority here (posters and viewers
alike- I hate the word "lurkers" with the negative connotation)
actually would like to discuss tinnitus and offer advice to
those new to the tinnitus world.So how far off base am I on this
assumption?

"WARNING: alt.support.tinnitus is an uncensored, unmoderated
newsgroup. There is help there, and by far the largest audience, but
you have to wade through some appalling nastiness to find it, at a
level unusual even for newgroups and worse than other message boards.
If some saint would like to start a moderated tinnitus newsgroup and
serve as impartial moderator, new tinnitus sufferers will be in their
debt."
